Daewoo E&C Employees Handcrafted Masks Donated to Dongbang Social Welfare Center

Non-Face-to-Face Volunteer Activities for Family Month

Daewoo E&C Employees Handcrafted Masks Donated to Dongbang Social Welfare Center Daewoo E&C delivered masks and donations made by employees and their families to Dongbang Social Welfare Center on the 2nd. Kang Ki-nam, Head of Management Support Office at Daewoo E&C (left), and Kim Jin-sook, President of Dongbang Social Welfare Center, participated in the delivery ceremony.

On the 3rd, Daewoo E&C announced that it had delivered 300 masks and 300 handkerchiefs made by employees and their families, along with a donation of 5 million KRW, to the Dongbang Social Welfare Foundation.

This volunteer activity was carried out as Daewoo E&C participated in the Dongbang Social Welfare Foundation's 'Two+ Gather Campaign' in celebration of Family Month. The 'Two+ Gather Campaign' is a participatory campaign organized by the Dongbang Social Welfare Foundation that provides basic childcare items such as handkerchiefs and masks to children under protection. About 290 employees and their families took part in the volunteer work, and considering social distancing, employees made masks and handkerchiefs at home.

The donation fund was sourced from the 'Employees Collecting Coins to Practice Love' fund. Since 2008, this social contribution activity has collected coins under 1,000 KRW from the monthly salaries of Daewoo E&C employees to support neighbors in need. The fund has been used for supporting Holt Ilsan Welfare Town and repairing houses of hope, among other causes. The masks and donation delivered by Daewoo E&C will be used for children awaiting adoption under the care of the Dongbang Social Welfare Foundation.
