2022 Hadong World Tea Expo's 7 Core Tasks Focus on 'Carbon Zero Expo' Promotion
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Hadong World Tea Expo Organizing Committee marked a small but meaningful start by unveiling its first promotional material made from eco-friendly recycled paper.
The committee produced eco-friendly promotional materials by incorporating watercolor illustrations of Hadong's major tea plantations, such as 'Farmers Picking Tea' and 'Jeonggeum Tea Plantation.'
Demonstrating its commitment to a carbon-zero expo, the committee chose recycled paper for over 10,000 promotional sheets.
The Hadong World Tea Expo selected 'Carbon Zero Expo' as one of its seven core tasks, emphasizing the significance of minimizing carbon emissions during the event.
Having experienced the COVID-19 pandemic, it is now considered more important to realize a sustainable expo rather than hosting large-scale expos that cause environmental destruction.
Accordingly, the Hadong World Tea Expo Organizing Committee announced that it will promote multiple-use items within the expo venue, campaigns to reduce disposable products, use of carbon footprint calculators, encouragement of public transportation, and link tea education with environmental education for children and youth.
Secretary-General Shin Chang-yeol stated, "In line with the government's Green New Deal policy, the Hadong World Tea Expo must become the first green expo," adding, "We will do our best to lead green recovery for our one and only Earth and future generations."
Meanwhile, the Hadong World Tea Expo will be held in April 2022 under the theme 'Scent of Nature, Healthy Future, Tea (Cha)!' at Hadong Sports Park, Hadong Wild Tea Culture Festival Site, and throughout the Gyeongnam region.
