[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Kim Yong-min, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, commented on Song Young-gil party leader's 'apology for the Cho Kuk incident,' saying, "There are people raising issues. We need to have a discussion."

On the 3rd, Kim appeared on YTN Radio's 'Hwang Bo-seon's Start of a New Morning' and said, "The essence of the incident was that former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol made his superior, former Minister Cho Kuk, a political scapegoat for his own presidential or political ambitions. It became the most humiliating political prosecution case in the history of the prosecution," adding, "We must continuously emphasize and examine the essence of the incident."

He continued, "Looking at the statements made by Leader Song Young-gil, there are quite a few evaluations that such remarks can be made to that extent," and said, "There are also people who raise issues not about the content but about why an apologetic statement was made at this point. I think we need to go through a more diverse discussion process."

Regarding former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, he said, "Investigations into his family or close associates are sluggish," and mentioned, "For example, regarding his wife Kim Gun-hee, some cases have passed the statute of limitations because the prosecution did not properly investigate."

Kim also said, "Looking at the people Yoon is currently meeting, it seems he is mainly meeting and communicating with former prosecutors from the People Power Party or members from the Legislation and Judiciary Committee," adding, "It appears that there has been continuous interaction since he was Prosecutor General, which raises strong suspicions that he may have compromised political neutrality in performing his duties as Prosecutor General and continued politically biased investigations and prosecutions."
