From mixing and mastering to video production
Music Specialty Company · Business-to-Consumer (B2C) App ‘Reboom’
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The era of 'independent music,' where anyone can easily produce personal music tracks through a mobile app, has arrived.
PhoneAir Co., Ltd. announced on the 3rd the launch of a music-specialized B2C app 'Reboom'. Reboom is a music production app accessible to the general public, providing a platform where anyone can create music tracks and generate revenue through YouTube.
Reboom focuses on resolving copyright issues and offers mixing and mastering functions that are typically difficult for ordinary users to handle. These features will be further enhanced into an AI-based mixing and mastering service by collecting and processing voice data and professional mixing engineers' data through the Ministry of Science and ICT's data voucher project in the future.
PhoneAir also holds a monthly contest called ‘Finding the Remake Star.’ This event allows the original songs to be reappraised and enables ordinary people to earn income through cover songs. The contest is open from the 1st to the 23rd of each month on the ‘Banggu-seok Vocal Association’ YouTube channel, and the winning remake track is released on general music service sites the month following the contest.
Founded in January last year, PhoneAir launched the Reboom app after two years of research and development with producers, composers, and experts from the music distribution industry. The company has filed six patents related to revenue sharing and mixing technology and is preparing to advance AI mixing and mastering through industry-academic cooperation. Last year, it successfully secured angel investments three times and received seed investment and business and product development support from The Invention Lab Accelerator Private Investment Association.
Jeon I-bae, CEO of Reboom, stated, “As the number of ordinary people who sing well increases, the music business structure must also change to allow them direct access to the music market. We are preparing for Reboom not only to grow as the top platform for ordinary content creators in Korea but also to challenge the global market through AI mixing technology.”
