[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Hotel is entering the senior town service business to prepare for an aging society.
On the 3rd, Lotte Hotel announced that it will provide operation consulting for a premium senior town with 600 households within the Osiria Tourist Complex in Busan. In relation to this, a signing ceremony for the Osiria project is scheduled to be held this afternoon at the Signiel Busan Ballroom, attended by Lee Bong-cheol, Head of Lotte Group Hotel & Service BU, Kim Hyun-sik, CEO of Lotte Hotel, Ha Han-chul, Chairman of Sun City (currently CEO of Jese Medical Foundation Jese Korean Medicine Clinic), and CEO Yoon Mi-young.
The senior town is planned to begin construction in December and open in July 2024. Lotte Hotel will be responsible for resident management as well as cultural, leisure, and dining services.
Lotte Hotel stated, "In line with Lotte Group's new vision of 'Lifetime Value Creator,' which aims to provide the best value throughout the customer's entire life cycle, we plan to introduce a premium senior town that consolidates over 40 years of hotel operation experience." They added, "In Busan, rapid aging is progressing to the extent that it is expected to enter a super-aged society as early as October this year. This project was realized thanks to Lotte's brand power in the Gyeongnam region and the premium image achieved through the successful operation of Signiel Busan."
The Osiria Tourist Complex currently houses Lotte Premium Outlets, and a large-scale Lotte Town where three generations can come together is planned, including the future opening of Lotte World Adventure Busan.
Kim Hyun-sik, CEO of Lotte Hotel, said, "Starting with Osiria, we plan to expand premium senior towns to major transportation and living hubs in Seoul and the metropolitan area."
