Lotte Homeshopping is conducting an environmental campaign supporting the creation of the eco-friendly green space 'Sum;Pyeonhan Forest' on the Choi Yura Show in celebration of Environment Day.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 3rd that it will conduct an environmental campaign to support the creation of the eco-friendly green space "Sum;Pyeonhan Forest" by donating trees equivalent to the number of orders through its representative living program, the Choi Yura Show, in celebration of Environment Day.
Sum;Pyeonhan Forest is a green space that Lotte Homeshopping is creating in urban areas to protect vulnerable groups from high concentrations of fine dust and to reduce greenhouse gases and fine dust. The first site was established last April at Yeoui Saetgang Ecological Park, and the plan is to create 50 sites by 2025, adding 10 sites annually.
This broadcast is based on the concept of "a breathable world created by your consumption," where one tree is automatically donated for each order placed during the broadcast. Lotte Homeshopping expects about 10,000 trees to be donated through this broadcast and plans to use them to plant a total of approximately 15,000 trees within this year.
In December last year, Lotte Homeshopping signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Environment and the Environmental Foundation to protect vulnerable groups from fine dust and respond to the climate crisis. Accordingly, they are working on planting a total of 500,000 trees in fine dust intensive management zones and other areas to create 50 Sum;Pyeonhan Forest sites. In March, they also donated goods worth 400 million won to Beautiful Store to support the creation of forests that reduce fine dust, among various activities aimed at improving environmental issues.
A Lotte Homeshopping official said, "To raise awareness about environmental protection on World Environment Day and to promote a healthy donation culture, we planned a green space creation campaign through our representative program, the Choi Yura Show." He added, "As eco-friendly efforts are emerging as essential survival conditions for companies, we will continue to carry out meaningful social contribution activities that can contribute to improving environmental issues."
