[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the 4th, Minister Jeon Hae-cheol will encourage departments and employees who have improved administrative services to enhance public convenience, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 3rd.


In this award, the ‘Safety Improvement Division,’ selected as the excellent civil complaint department, was recognized for establishing the ‘COVID-19 quarantine violation report’ function in the Safety Report Center and integrating the dispersed reporting systems into one so that safety risk factors or inconveniences in daily life can be reported in one place.


The employees selected as outstanding staff were recognized for revising regulations so that the ‘past address change details’ are displayed for the necessary period when issuing resident registration certificates, resolving civil complaints, conducting preventive education related to power harassment and sexual harassment, and sincerely responding to various grievances, thereby contributing to customer satisfaction and organizational culture improvement.


Resident and Officer Kim Ji-hyun, selected as excellent civil complaint officials, said, “I felt great reward as issues frequently received as civil complaints were reflected in institutional improvements through this legal amendment,” and added, “I want to be a public official who strives to resolve the big and small inconveniences in the daily lives of the people.”


Minister Jeon Hae-cheol of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety said, “It is important to actively solve the inconveniences and difficulties of the people and provide administrative services that can be felt,” and requested, “Please continue to raise the quality of administrative services through improving the quality of civil complaint services and institutional improvements.” He added, “We plan to strengthen rewards for outstanding employees so that those in charge of public administration can work with pride, and also to fully operate a psychological counseling center to heal work-related stress.”
