According to local Taiwanese media such as Liberty Times on the 2nd, it was confirmed that on April 15, an unidentified hacker hacked the university entrance exam application system, resulting in the leakage of personal information of about 2,000 high school students, accounting for 2.7% of the examinees.
This fact came to light through a report from an examinee.
Subsequently, the center restored the system, implemented information protection measures, and has requested an investigation from judicial authorities.
They emphasized that the hacked system was the 'mock exam' system scheduled for next month in preparation for the new university admission process to be applied from next year, and that there was no impact on the current university entrance exam and question bank systems.
In this regard, the Taiwan Ministry of Education demanded that the center punish those responsible and strengthen information security protection.
The Ministry of Education also ordered strict handling of the 'Designated Subject Test,' which is equivalent to the Taiwan university entrance qualification exam, to be held in early July.
