"What's the Child's Fault?" Seo Jang-hoon Angered by Story of Older Brother and Wife Who Ran Away from Home

[Asia Economy Online Issue Team] A client's story of raising their nephew for a full 5 years due to the habitual runaway of their older brother and his wife has been revealed.

On the episode of KBS JOY's 'Ask Anything' aired on the 31st of last month, the story of a client raising their 6-year-old nephew in place of their runaway older brother and his wife was introduced.

In the broadcast, the client said, "My older brother and his wife had a child in 2016, and when the nephew was 8 months old, my sister-in-law left the house," adding, "Then, two months later, my older brother also ran away."

They continued, "We searched everywhere for my older brother and his wife and found them after 4 years. But they said they had been moving from one jjimjilbang to another. So my mother found a room for them to stay with the child for a few months," and added, "But then, just 6 months after finding them, they ran away together again."

The client shared the reason behind the older brother and his wife's runaway, saying, "There were many troubles with the family," and added, "Right now, I am raising the child with my mother, but honestly, it is financially difficult. There is no separate income. I do part-time jobs occasionally."

Also, the client said, "My older brother and his wife work as day laborers at a logistics center. But I don't know where that logistics center is." In response, Lee Soo-geun said, "If you try to find them, there is a way. You can go to the police station and file a runaway report," but the client replied, "I have already filed a missing person and runaway report."

In particular, the client explained, "Last October, I received a call from the local police station at dawn. They said my nephew was at the police station," and added, "My older brother and his wife put the child to sleep and left, but the child woke up and went outside looking for his mom and dad because they were not there."

Upon hearing the story, Seo Jang-hoon expressed anger, saying, "This is so irresponsible. What crime did the child commit?" He also comforted the client, saying, "It must be very difficult, but since you have a special affection as the child's aunt, you should raise the child as much as you can until your older brother and his wife come back."
