Yoon Seok-yeol Discusses LH and Reconstruction Issues with Architect Yoo Hyun-joon

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Tae-min] It has been confirmed that former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol recently met with Yoo Hyun-joon, a famous architect and professor at the Department of Architecture, Hongik University.

According to sources on the 31st, the two exchanged overall opinions on urban space and development, as well as issues related to the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) speculation scandal and housing problems.

Professor Yoo said that former Prosecutor General Yoon repeatedly emphasized that “a monopoly structure inevitably leads to corruption” and “the concentration of power goes against the market and must be guarded against” as the cause of the LH scandal.

In an interview with some media outlets last March, former Prosecutor General Yoon stated regarding the LH scandal, "Stealing public information to speculate on real estate is a 'crime that ruins the nation,'" and argued, "Instead of delaying and destroying evidence, an immediate and large-scale investigation must be conducted."

Former Prosecutor General Yoon and Professor Yoo also exchanged opinions on the issue of real estate reconstruction. Professor Yoo said, “To practically resolve the housing problem, reconstruction must be done, and it would be better to revitalize reconstruction on a small to medium scale,” and it was reported that former Prosecutor General Yoon agreed.

Professor Yoo, who has been serving as a professor in the Department of Architecture at Hongik University since 2005, also appeared on the TVN educational program 'Alssul Sinjab 2' in 2017 alongside Yoo Si-min, chairman of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, among others.
