In Its Second Year, 77 Companies Participate in Design Festival Across Hakdong-ro 'Enjoy! Home Life... May 28?June 5'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jung Soon-gyun) is holding the '2021 Gangnam Interior Design Week' from the opening ceremony on the 29th until June 5th in the Nonhyeon Furniture Street area, with participation from 77 domestic and international interior design companies.
Now in its second year, the 'Gangnam Interior Design Week' was planned to revitalize the local economy by attracting tourists. The aim is to establish the Nonhyeon Furniture Street area as a representative 'Interior Design Street' in Korea.
The 2 km stretch along the main road connecting Nonhyeon Station and Hakdong Station on Subway Line 7 will be decorated with art installations by installation artists. The themed pavilion (Hakdong-ro 138), equipped with a special exhibition hall and digital showroom, will showcase works themed 'Enjoy! Home Life,' featuring spaces and lifestyles.
Various events such as 'Art Collaboration' and 'Brand Day' will be held at brand showrooms of 43 stores in the area. A 'Sale Festa' will also take place, offering furniture and design accessories at discounted prices.
On the 29th and 30th, a 'Design Market' will be held with participation from 34 small business owners, offering interior accessory sales and bathroom remodeling consultations.
An event commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and the Netherlands has also been prepared. The district office and the Embassy of the Netherlands in Korea will host a 'Design Webinar,' featuring an online consultation meeting between interior design companies from the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Italy, and domestic buyers.
Since the 17th, a 'Live Commerce' event has been ongoing, where products from 13 interior brands can be purchased at reasonable prices. For more details, please check the 'Gangnam Interior Design Week' website or the dedicated app.
Meanwhile, to comply with quarantine guidelines, the number of entrants is limited to around 20 people. All face-to-face programs require prior reservation. Visitors can attend the event after their health status is confirmed through temperature checks. Entry records are saved using QR codes within the dedicated app when entering each brand showroom.
