[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Starting next month, more than 220 universities nationwide will be able to issue online certificates using the Financial Authentication Certificate.
On the 27th, the Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute announced that it had signed a business agreement with I&Tech, a company providing online certificate issuance services.
According to the agreement, current students and alumni of over 220 universities, for which I&Tech handles issuance tasks, will be able to receive more than 20 types of university certificates using the Financial Authentication Certificate starting June 1. It is efficient as there is no need for mobile phone identity verification or separate application installation for certificate printing, nor is it necessary to visit the school. Certificates can also be issued via mobile devices.
The Korea Financial Telecommunications and Clearings Institute plans to expand the use of the Financial Authentication Certificate to unmanned certificate issuance machines in the future. They are also considering its use for login, course registration, and attendance management at cyber universities and credit banks. The number of universities using the Financial Authentication Certificate is planned to expand to over 430 nationwide by next month.
