[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 26th that it will hold a ‘Visiting Apartment Community Briefing Session’ centered on new apartments amid the rapid increase in apartment residential culture due to urban development and redevelopment.
This briefing session was organized as an opportunity to revitalize apartment communities by solving various social problems through apartment communities and supporting community projects amid the accelerating disconnection between neighbors in diverse residential ecosystems.
In other words, the purpose is to form a considerate community culture through communication that restores relationships such as dialogue and compromise between neighbors regarding various issues occurring within multi-family housing, such as noise between floors, illegal parking, and waste separation and disposal.
The briefing session started on the 21st with Pureungil Doosan We’ve 2nd Phase and Baekhwa Apartments, and will be held until the 11th of next month for 22 apartments in the district including Grant Central on the 25th. It will cover topics that can raise residents’ awareness and interest in the necessity of apartment communities, such as ▲understanding village communities and village projects ▲sharing excellent cases of apartment community operations.
To comply with COVID-19 social distancing, the number of briefing session attendees is limited to about 10 residents, and the apartments holding the sessions will be linked to the ‘2021 Dong-gu Starting Village Community Support Project.’
The ‘Starting Village Community Support Project’ promoted by Dong-gu plans to support 16 apartment (village) communities with a project budget of over 31 million won, providing up to 2 million won per community.

Mayor Im Taek of Dong-gu said, “With the recent influx of large-scale apartment complexes due to urban development, the need for apartment communities is emerging more than ever,” adding, “I hope that through community activities, communication and harmony between neighbors will form a healthy residential culture and a warm Dong-gu with neighbors will be created.”
