With Reader IT Technology Standing Out in the Global Market... 'K-Startup' Draws Attention

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] 'K-Startups' led by Korean founders are standing out in the global market. The global expansion of B2B startups with unique IT technologies is particularly noticeable. Here, we introduce IT startups recognized overseas for their solutions.

4D special video solution company '4DREPLAY' developed IT technology that allows users to view the movement of subjects on screen from desired angles and speeds, targeting the global market. Founded by CEO Hongsoo Jung, a former Samsung SDS developer, 4DREPLAY is headquartered in Silicon Valley, USA.

They developed multi-angle replay video solution '4DReplay' and real-time free viewpoint time-slice technology '4DLive' that enables ultra-personalized viewing for sports and entertainment broadcasts worldwide. Their technology is recognized through providing video solutions for major global sports broadcasts such as the U.S. Major League Baseball (MLB), National Basketball Association (NBA), Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

4DREPLAY is participating as a broadcast partner for the fourth consecutive year in the 'PGA Championship,' a major golf tournament on the U.S. Professional Golf (PGA) Tour, held until the 24th. Viewers can dynamically enjoy game scenes through screens reflecting the 4DReplay solution.

There is a startup that has captured the global market by providing application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable chat, video calls, and other functions to be integrated into mobile applications or websites. This is 'Sendbird,' founded by CEO Dongshin Kim, a former NCSoft engineer.

With its customizable chat API solution, Sendbird has secured clients such as Delivery Hero (DH), Europe's largest mobility startup, Reddit, a famous U.S. social media platform, Hinge, the largest U.S. dating app company, ServiceNow, Virgin Mobile, and Yahoo.

Recently, Sendbird updated to support 'Sendbird Calls,' a multi-party voice and video call feature. It can be easily integrated and built into existing apps, significantly reducing the time companies need to launch services.

There is also a startup that not only listed an AI-powered active exchange-traded fund (ETF) on the New York Stock Exchange but is also attracting Wall Street's attention with outstanding returns. This fintech startup is 'Craft Technologies,' which recently made headlines by accurately predicting Tesla's stock price fluctuations and trading stocks accordingly.

Led by CEO Hyungsik Kim, a Seoul National University alumnus, Craft Technologies developed 'AI Robo-Advisor,' 'AI Fund Management,' and 'AI Order Execution System,' which are used in domestic and international B2B markets. The AMOM (AI-Enhanced U.S. Large Cap Momentum ETF), managed by AI rather than humans, tracks and invests in 50 large-cap U.S. stocks with strong momentum. It can autonomously recognize and learn necessary factors for investment strategies based on technology that extracts specific patterns and trends from vast financial data.

Since its listing in May 2019, AMOM has shown stable returns, outperforming the similar strategy-based SPMO (Invesco S&P 500 Momentum ETF (Beta ETF)) by 38.1 percentage points as of the end of April this year.
