Suncheon-si Holds Ontact Investment Attraction Briefing to Revitalize Webtoon Industry

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 20th that it will hold an ontact investment attraction briefing session tomorrow at the Suncheon Global Webtoon Center, jointly with Jeollanam-do, through the YouTube channels (Suncheon City · Euddeum Jeonnam Tube).

This briefing session will focus on the webtoon and animation industries in line with the changes in the future-oriented advanced industrial ecosystem, and participants can join the investment attraction briefing session via the YouTube channel from around 2 PM tomorrow.

Suncheon City and Jeonnam Province promoted a reshoring project for youth job creation in the content industry last year, attracting 21 webtoon and animation companies including Mr. Blue and Dongwoo A&E, nurturing 195 professionals.

In particular, the city established the Honam region's first Global Webtoon Center last year and signed a business agreement for fostering the comic culture industry with Suncheon City, Suncheon National University, and Cheongam College, growing into a leading comic city by strengthening human resources capabilities and industrial competitiveness.

An official from the city stated, “Suncheon City and Jeonnam Province are making multifaceted efforts to foster the webtoon industry and attract companies. This briefing session will introduce the investment attraction plans and support for the webtoon industry by Suncheon City and Jeollanam-do, providing a place for real-time communication with potential investors and companies.” He added, “Going forward, Suncheon City and Jeollanam-do will do their best to attract knowledge, information, and cultural businesses, including the webtoon industry.”
