[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 20th that it has been selected for the third consecutive year in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Social Economy Promotion Support Project in the Social Service Sector.'

This public contest project selected 15 local governments nationwide, and Sancheong-gun is the only one in the province.

Sancheong-gun will convert the previously promoted 'Sociality Improvement Service for Single-Person Households (Iso Partner Project)' into the 'Happy Multi-Child Family Project' starting this year.

This project is linked and cooperated in a consortium form by the leading institution Sancheong-gun, the representative institution Sancheong Regional Self-Support Center, and constituent institutions including self-support, village, and social enterprises.

The project budget is 50 million won and targets multi-child families with two or more children.

It plans to support the relief of child-rearing stress and healthy growth of children through family experience activities, cultural exploration, parent education, and clean housing services.

In particular, to revitalize the social economy, a cooking experience program using food ingredient packages produced by social enterprises in the region will also be conducted.

To ensure smooth project implementation, the county signed a business agreement between the representative institution, Sancheong Regional Self-Support Center, and constituent institutions. Through the agreement, the county established a network between institutions and organized an advisory group.

A county official said, “The Happy Multi-Child Family Project not only provides opportunities for mutual exchange but is also expected to help create a family-friendly atmosphere by reducing the burden of child-rearing.” He added, “We will also strive to revitalize the social economy by encouraging local social enterprises to actively participate in this project.”
