Gwangju Nam-gu 'Eutteum Hyo Nam-gu TV YouTube Broadcasting Station' Operation

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 20th that it has established and is operating the ‘Eutteum Hyo Nam-gu TV YouTube Broadcasting Station’ on the 3rd floor of the Nam-gu Senior Welfare Center with a project budget of 18 million won to alleviate the boredom and loneliness of the elderly.

The Eutteum Hyo Nam-gu TV YouTube Broadcasting Station was established to revitalize leisure activities for the elderly through real-time communication and non-face-to-face methods, and to enhance the elderly’s accessibility to various information.

Nam-gu plans to provide customized services in earnest by purchasing monitors and filming equipment so that live broadcasts can be conducted in real time at the Nam-gu Senior Welfare Center, a hub space for the elderly.

The broadcast content provided to the elderly is expected to include singing contests, silver cooking classes, and neighborhood outing videos.

In addition, in line with the smart era, smartphone usage and video filming methods will be provided to enable interactive communication between content providers and consumers.

Furthermore, in November, a video presentation event produced by the elderly and the finals of the singing contest will be held to share the results of the YouTube broadcasting station project with the elderly in the district.

A Nam-gu official said, “We will continue to develop programs suitable for the COVID-19 era and do our best to operate the YouTube broadcasting station so that the elderly in the district can use high-quality content free from physical and time constraints.”
