Solian Peer Counseling Federation Club 'Neonadeuli 7th Generation' Activities Begin to Revitalize Peer Counseling Clubs in Schools

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) held the launching ceremony of the Solian Peer Counseling Federation Club "Neonadeuli 7th Generation" to revitalize peer counseling clubs in middle and high schools at the Seongbuk-gu Youth Counseling Welfare Center on the 9th.

Started in 2015 and now in its 7th generation, "Neonadeuli" is a federation club of middle and high school peer counselors formed to strengthen the counseling capabilities of peer counselors in local middle and high schools and to activate peer counseling clubs within schools.

The 7th generation will be held biweekly from May to July, receiving education on "psychological counseling" and career paths, and enhancing capabilities as peer counselors through advanced peer counseling training to provide actual counseling help to peers facing difficulties at school.

Additionally, they are preparing for extensive peer counseling activities through youth external activities and the "Homecoming Day" for Neonadeuli 6th and 7th generations.

A student who participated in the Neonadeuli 7th generation launching ceremony said, "I want to grow further as a peer counselor, help friends who have concerns at school, and hope this will be an opportunity to explore my career path concretely, as my future aspiration is to become a psychological counselor."

Lee Eun-seon, head of the Seongbuk-gu Youth Counseling Welfare Center, said, "We will strive to help youths in Seongbuk-gu overcome psychological difficulties such as COVID-19 depression and actively support various programs and club activities that enable safe and happy school life."

Located on the 4th floor of the Seongbuk Child and Youth Center (242 Jeongneung-ro, Seongbuk-gu), the Seongbuk-gu Youth Counseling Welfare Center is always open to youths, and those with concerns can contact the Youth Hotline or the Seongbuk-gu Youth Counseling Welfare Center.
