Seongdong-gu Hope Job Center Relocates from District Office 3rd Floor to 1st Floor Job seekers are looking at the job posting board at Seongdong-gu Hope Job Center.

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) Hope Job Center has relocated from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor of Seongdong-gu Office and will resume operations from 1 PM on the 20th.

The Seongdong-gu Hope Job Center, which provides various employment services such as job search and counseling, job placement, and job fairs, is expected to greatly improve accessibility and convenience for users as it moved to the 1st floor civil service office this month.

Located alongside Seongdong Life Bank Samsung Smile Finance and the Financial Welfare Counseling Center, it is anticipated that not only job counseling but also financial services such as loans for low-income groups and debt management will be easily and conveniently available.

Last year, the Seongdong-gu Hope Job Center registered 1,862 job postings and 2,908 job seekers, connecting 753 people to employment. Since 2019, it has operated the ‘Seongsu Branch’ in Seongsu-dong, where many companies are concentrated, and on June 1, the Seongdong-Gwangjin Employment Welfare Plus Center is also set to open in Seongsu AK Valley.

Last month, to connect small and medium-sized enterprises struggling with recruitment due to COVID-19 and young job seekers, the district opened the ‘Seongsu Startup Recruitment Hall’ on Job Korea. Currently, about 150 companies, including social venture companies and strong small businesses, have joined the online recruitment hall.

On June 22, in collaboration with the Korea Management Innovation Small and Medium Business Association, a small-scale job fair for middle-aged and older adults will be held, with participation from about 10 recruiting companies. On-site interviews, resume consulting, and mock interviews will be conducted, and in October, an untact job fair for the youth will be held to facilitate job connections.

Job seekers interested in detailed schedules can inquire at the Seongdong-gu Hope Job Center.

Jung Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, “I hope residents visit the district office and conveniently use various employment support services,” adding, “The Seongdong-gu Hope Job Center will strive even harder to help overcome the employment crisis caused by COVID-19.”
