Selected as an Excellent Institution for 2 Consecutive Years, Outstanding Food Safety Management Performance

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Song Gwi-geun) announced on the 18th that it was honored to be selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in this year's food safety management evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety targeting 228 local governments nationwide, in celebration of the '20th Food Safety Day' on the 14th.

In addition, it was selected as an excellent institution for two consecutive years in last year's comprehensive evaluation of hygiene management projects of 22 cities and counties hosted by Jeollanam-do, proving excellence in food safety management work.

In this evaluation, high marks were received for food safety management infrastructure, basic hygiene management and government major policy implementation rate, achievement rate and input rate of collection targets for specially managed foods, as well as excellent cases of COVID-19 prevention.

The county is making every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by supporting hand sanitizers, disinfectants, and visitor logs to local hygiene businesses so that tourists can stay with peace of mind.

A county official said, “Despite the difficult environment with the ongoing COVID-19, we will do our best for the advancement of food culture by implementing projects such as installing standing tables in restaurants, installing handwashing facilities, and supporting the improvement of hygiene business facility environments, and we will strive to ensure that all tourists visiting Goheung are satisfied through continuous kindness education and food safety management.”
