[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do has confirmed additional variant virus cases in a total of 26 people since the 11th.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) conducted additional variant virus tests on confirmed cases related to cluster outbreaks within the province and other individual cases.
Test results confirmed the UK variant virus in 11 people related to entertainment establishments in Sacheon, 3 people related to the Sacheon Welfare Center, 2 people related to a karaoke bar in Sacheon, 1 person related to a church in Jinju, 7 other individual cases, and 1 person related to another region. Additionally, the Indian variant virus was confirmed in 1 overseas entrant.
As of now, the total number of variant virus infections confirmed in the province is 53, including 7 overseas entrants and 46 local infections.
Gyeongsangnam-do is isolating all overseas entrant confirmed cases in single rooms to prevent the spread of the variant virus.
Furthermore, contacts of variant virus confirmed cases are required to undergo testing before release from quarantine, and active monitoring subjects are strongly recommended to be tested before the end of their monitoring period.
