[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The National Mokpo University (President Park Min-seo) Social Customized Industry-Academia Cooperation Leading University Development Project (hereinafter LINC+ Project Team Director Lee Sang-chan) announced on the 18th that it conducted the 'One-Day Living Lab to Solve Our Neighborhood Problems' at the 1st floor Jeongsangmuk Hall of the Mokpo University 70th Anniversary Hall from the 12th to the 14th.
The 'One-Day Living Lab to Solve Our Neighborhood Problems' is a project aimed at encouraging active participation of enrolled students and fostering a positive mindset by applying design thinking to identify and solve local community issues.
Hosted by the Mokpo University LINC+ Project Team, the event was held over three days in four sessions, mixing students from humanities, science and engineering, and arts majors. The students generated ideas to solve local problems visible in their neighborhoods, such as noise between floors, environmental pollution, and parking issues, and created prototypes of alternatives, approaching design thinking through feedback on these prototypes.
Lee Sang-chan, director of the Mokpo University LINC+ Project Team, said, “The one-day living lab, where students from diverse majors in humanities, science and engineering, and arts form a consensus and solve problems together, is a representative project that can foster student growth. We will strive to realize these results in the local community and demonstrate how the university contributes to regional development.”
