[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Korea Racing Authority Busan Yeonje Branch (Branch Manager Bae Gi-han) conducted the ‘Hope Kit for Vulnerable Groups with Traditional Markets’ project together with the Korean Red Cross Busan Chapter on the 13th.

The project involved delivering hope kits consisting of food items to 145 vulnerable households in Yeonje-gu affected by COVID-19. The Korea Racing Authority Busan Yeonje Branch donated 5 million KRW and provided the location for making the hope kits.

The food items for the hope kits were purchased at Yeonsan Market, supporting the local traditional market which has been depressed due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Twenty-two volunteers participated in making the hope kits, and the kits were directly delivered to 145 vulnerable households using vehicles from the Korean Red Cross.

Choi Hong-chan, Chairman of the Yeonje District Council who participated in the volunteer activity, expressed gratitude, saying, “I appreciate the continuous community donation activities of the Korea Racing Authority Yeonje Branch for vulnerable groups despite COVID-19, and the dedicated efforts of the volunteers from the Korean Red Cross Busan Chapter.”

Since its opening in 2004, the Korea Racing Authority Busan Yeonje Branch has been promoting various social contribution activities such as community coexistence cooperation and support for vulnerable groups, despite recent difficulties including business downturn caused by COVID-19.
