[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Samsung Bioepis announced on the 17th that it signed an 'Industry-Academia Cooperation Agreement' with Seoul National University College of Pharmacy at Seoul National University Gwanak Campus to foster outstanding talent in the pharmaceutical and bio industries.
Through this agreement, Samsung Bioepis plans to provide opportunities to learn biopharmaceutical research and development capabilities and know-how. Additionally, it will establish a clinical medicine track course within the university to support customized on-site education programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
Samsung Bioepis has recently been actively promoting industry-academia cooperation activities to nurture outstanding talent early to lead the future bio industry and support university research activities. Since 2015, it has signed agreements with four universities nationwide, including KAIST, Chonnam National University, POSTECH, and Sungkyunkwan University, conducting research notebook competitions and spreading the company's biopharmaceutical research and development know-how.
With this cooperation, Samsung Bioepis will expand its industry-academia cooperation activities for training bio-specialized personnel to five universities. A Samsung Bioepis official stated, "Through active industry-academia cooperation activities with domestic universities, we will strive to nurture specialized personnel who will lead future industries early and contribute to South Korea's advancement as a bio powerhouse."
