[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Seven Eleven announced on the 18th that it has launched an eco-friendly no-label private brand (PB) bottled water called ‘Eolsu-eol水’. The product name combines ‘Earth’ and the Korean word for water ‘수 (水)’, implying ‘water that protects the Earth.’ It also carries a double meaning that using eco-friendly products and protecting the environment will naturally make you want to dance with joy.
Eolsu-eol水 features a completely transparent, plain package with no labels or any printed materials on the surface. Mandatory product information such as volume and water source is displayed on the bottle cap label. Additionally, the bottle cap includes illustrations of seven endangered animals, differentiating it from other no-label bottled waters while emphasizing the importance of environmental and nature conservation.
To commemorate the launch of Eolsu-eol水, Seven Eleven is conducting various customer promotions. The Instagram event ‘Drink Eolsu-eol水 and Go on a Hotel Vacation’ will run from next month 1st to July 18th. Customers who collect the seven endangered animal bottle caps of Eolsu-eol水 and upload a certification photo with an environmental protection message will be entered into a weekly draw where seven winners per week, totaling 49 people, will receive a stay voucher for Signiel Hotel.
Also, customers who purchase Eolsu-eol水 next month and accumulate seven stamps through the Seven Eleven mobile app will be entered into a draw to win a Yummy cooler bag, awarded to 1,000 winners. From the 8th to the 15th of next month, there will be a promotion offering a free 500ml bottle of Eolsu-eol水 with the purchase of the top five best-selling triangle kimbap varieties.
A Seven Eleven representative said, “Eolsu-eol水 can provide both product and social value to modern consumers who pursue conscientious consumption. Since it is easy to separate for recycling, it reduces plastic waste and significantly increases recycling rates. We will continue to consider and develop products that help establish an eco-friendly lifestyle culture.”
