[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] The Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced on the 17th that it is investigating after receiving a complaint from a Thai national international student who claimed to have been sexually assaulted by a Korean male.
According to the police, the Thai national international student, Mr. A, filed a complaint on the 27th of last month, stating that he was sexually assaulted by a Korean man in his 20s, Mr. B, at a hotel in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 15th of the same month.
Mr. A was reportedly drinking with his friend Mr. C, who attended high school together with him in Thailand, and Mr. B, a friend of Mr. C, was also present at the gathering.
Mr. A claims that Mr. B sexually assaulted him when Mr. C, his schoolmate, stepped away from the place. Additionally, Mr. A has accused Mr. C of attempted sexual assault, alleging that both tried to sexually assault him together.
A police official stated, "We have received the complaint and are investigating," adding, "We cannot confirm specific charges or details."
