[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Kim Ki-hyun, Acting Leader of the People Power Party and Floor Leader, urged newly appointed Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum on the 17th to ensure election neutrality and to consider replacing the personnel line at the Blue House.

Acting Leader Kim received Prime Minister Kim at the National Assembly on the same day. Acting Leader Kim stated, "I cannot help but express regret once again that the motion for the Prime Minister's appointment was forcibly passed without the opposition party's consent," adding, "Considering that the Minister of the Interior and Safety and the Minister of Justice, who manage the election, are senior ruling party lawmakers, and that a member of the Central Election Commission who was part of President Moon Jae-in's election campaign has been appointed, it is a situation that raises concerns and even anxiety about impartial election management." He continued, "Regarding the ongoing personnel disasters, I request responsible measures such as a significant dismissal of the Blue House personnel line."

Prime Minister Kim responded regarding election neutrality management, "I have been involved in politics for nearly 30 years, but I would never do anything that harms the people," and said, "I promise that." He added, "The public's main concern is ultimately overcoming COVID-19," and "There seems to be no distinction between ruling and opposition parties on this matter."

Additionally, he stated, "I will make the remaining year of the Moon Jae-in administration a period to build at least minimal trust with the people."
