On the 17th, Governor Kim Sunho held a policy discussion meeting with department heads and instructed thorough compliance with quarantine rules, including inspection of religious facilities for COVID-19 prevention on Buddha’s Birthday.

At the discussion, Governor Kim emphasized the inspection of religious facilities for Buddha’s Birthday, promotion of COVID-19 vaccination and advance reservations, and meticulous management including public officials’ adherence to quarantine rules.

The upcoming 19th is Buddha’s Birthday, and Gurye-gun has 37 Buddhist temples such as Hwaeomsa, Cheoneunsa, and Yeongoksa, so it is expected that many Buddhist believers from other regions will visit Gurye-gun.

Accordingly, they plan to carefully inspect compliance with COVID-19 quarantine management rules related to religious facility operations, such as mask-wearing and social distancing.

In particular, thorough quarantine will be enforced at multi-use facilities such as Gurye Public Bus Terminal, 5-day Market, permanent market, outing market, and libraries to prevent COVID-19 infections and ensure no further confirmed cases occur.

Also, the second dose of COVID-19 vaccination for those aged 75 and older is progressing smoothly, and advance reservations for COVID-19 vaccination for those aged 60 to 74 are being accepted until the 3rd of next month. They are promoting vaccination so that many residents can receive it and actively pursuing a safe Gurye.

Furthermore, following the recent occurrence of over 200 confirmed cases in the eastern region of Jeonnam, public officials are being urged to refrain from visiting other regions, minimize commuting routes, wear masks, and set an example.

Governor Kim Sunho instructed, “Prepare measures to ensure a safe event including fire accident prevention in preparation for Buddha’s Birthday,” and especially ordered, “Thoroughly promote advance reservations for COVID-19 vaccination.”
