[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Interpark announced on the 17th that it will hold a 'Buddhist Book Collection Exhibition' until the 31st in celebration of 'Buddha's Birthday (May 19th)'.
This special exhibition introduces a total of 18 titles, divided into recommended books on mind training and recommended Buddhist books, featuring steady sellers and MD-recommended books in each field.
In particular, "The Path of Truth and Freedom," a newly published book after 13 years, compiles unpublished posthumous writings of Venerable Beopjeong, who passed away in 2010. The unpublished handwritten manuscripts, discovered by Venerable Deokjo, Beopjeong's chief disciple and the clear and fragrant chairman, while organizing the manuscripts, were written as training materials during Beopjeong's time as the head of training at Songgwangsa Temple. They contain Beopjeong's thoughts on what Buddhism is and how to practice it.
In addition, Beopjeong's representative essay collection "Be Happy by Yourself" was reissued as a 100,000-copy commemorative edition with a new cover design and hardcover binding. Kim Hayun, MD in charge of religion at Interpark's book business division, said, "Buddhist books are not only about religious doctrines but also include many essays on managing the mind and practicing training, so readers can find meaning in life and gain strength through books." She added, "We hope this opportunity to gain peace through the words of highly cultivated monks will be meaningful in celebration of Buddha's Birthday."
