According to One Store on May 17, the newly released free fonts are "One Store Mobile Gothic Title," "One Store Mobile Gothic Body," and "One Store Mobile POP." These typefaces are optimized for mobile environments where high legibility is essential, offering outstanding readability. From the development stage, One Store focused on broad usability from the user's perspective, rather than strongly reflecting corporate identity in the font design. As a result, the fonts can be widely used across games, webtoons, various online content, and events.
The One Store Mobile Gothic Title font is designed for headlines and is ideal for grabbing attention on mobile screens. With a stable yet bold and soft style, it is well-suited for YouTube thumbnails or highlighting phrases within templates. The One Store Mobile Gothic Body font is characterized by maximizing readability in longer texts, while the One Store Mobile POP font is a casual, handwritten-style typeface that works well for online promotions.
This free font production and distribution is part of One Store’s ongoing win-win support policy for the industry. To help small developers overcome the challenges of high costs and limited usability of existing fonts, One Store has opened the licenses for all three fonts for commercial use.
One Store has also released a lightweight web font version, allowing users to view content with the fonts applied even if they are not installed on their computers. This enables professionals in various fields to make broad use of the fonts.
To commemorate the release of the free fonts, One Store is running the "One Store Fonts Are Great" campaign. The campaign includes the release of various video contents to promote the free fonts, game events using the fonts, and merchandise. First, a video featuring the "Mapketing Team 1," which has gained attention for its witty banter and content reminiscent of real office life, will be released to promote the fonts. Broadcaster Yoo Byungjae makes a special appearance in the video. In addition, a collaboration video with popping dancer Poppin Hoan has also been released. Poppin Hoan expresses the features of the One Store fonts through dynamic dance, with neon-lit letters swirling around him to convey a trendy vibe. The "Check Out the Fonts" event, where participants can win prizes through a game, runs until June 10. The game consists of 15 stages, and in each stage, players must quickly find the sentence matching the given prompt within a 20-second time limit. Those who complete all stages within the allotted time will be entered into a prize drawing.
Additionally, One Store is offering free items including a Korean clock made with the fonts, a tin case, clip art pens, a stationery package, 13 types of video subtitle sources for creators, PowerPoint templates usable on both web and app, and note templates.
Furthermore, One Store plans to encourage even wider use of its mobile fonts by displaying outdoor advertisements featuring the three fonts in Pangyo, where many developers are based.
