2021 Education Decentralization Forum and 2nd Busan Talent Forum to be Held at BEXCO on the 17th at 2 PM
Talent Development Stakeholders Gather to Explore Talent Development Directions and Sustainable Regional University Development Plans
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City will participate in the ‘2021 Education Decentralization Forum’ and the ‘2nd Busan Talent Forum’ held at BEXCO on the 17th.
This forum, under the theme ‘The Crisis of Regional Universities is the Crisis of Regional Communities,’ brings together key talent development entities such as Busan City, Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and regional universities to explore directions for nurturing region-specific talent and sustainable development of regional universities.
The forum will be divided into three sections: ▲The Role and Future of Regional Universities in an Era of Declining School-Age Population (Jang Young-soo, President of Pukyong National University) ▲Finding Answers in the Region through Education (Lee Kwang-jae, Member of the National Assembly) ▲Sustainability of Regional Talent Development (Kim Seok-jun, Superintendent of Education). Presentations and discussions will be held on these topics.
Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan, stated, “The development of universities leads to the development of Busan, the future of youth, and hope for Busan,” adding, “Busan’s innovation capacity comes from universities. We must create new momentum for university development and build an industry-academia-government innovation city.”
