Samsung alumnus Hong Jong-gi, Deputy Spokesperson, runs for People Power Party Supreme Council member "Updating party operation system"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] Hong Jong-gi, a former lawyer in Samsung Electronics' semiconductor division and the deputy spokesperson of the People Power Party, announced his candidacy for the youth supreme committee member election on the 16th.

At a press conference that day, he stated, "I will update the party's operating system, which is stuck in the DOS and Windows 95 era, to the latest version suitable for the Android and iOS era," explaining his reason for running.

He cited examples such as the late Lee Kun-hee, chairman of Samsung Electronics, who emphasized innovation in 1993 in Frankfurt by saying, "Change everything except your wife and children," and in 1995 at the Gumi factory, burning defective products while asking, "Aren't you afraid of customers when you make defective products?"

Deputy Spokesperson Hong said, "The People Power Party must also learn the reform spirit of entrepreneurs, the fear of customers, and a vision that looks to the future rather than immediate losses."

As youth policies, he proposed "realistic military wages, strengthening industrial safety and disaster compensation to protect young workers, preferential nomination in local elections for young men and women injured during military service, an open competition system for youth political participation, and improving the treatment of young party office staff and aides."
