[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] On the 15th, 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were added mainly in Gimcheon and Gyeongju in Gyeongbuk Province.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 16th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area increased by 11 from the previous day to 4,447 (including 121 imported cases). By region, there were 3 cases each in Gyeongju and Gimcheon, 2 cases each in Pohang and Chilgok County, and 1 case in Gyeongsan.
The new confirmed cases in Gimcheon are related to a cluster infection at a vineyard vinyl greenhouse (2 cases) and an elderly facility (1 case). Since the 12th, the cumulative confirmed cases at the elderly facility in Gimcheon have reached 40 over five days, and those related to the vineyard vinyl greenhouse facility construction also total 20.
Among the 3 new confirmed cases in Gyeongju, one was a contact of Gyeongju case number 346 confirmed on the 10th and tested positive before the end of self-quarantine, while the infection routes of the other two remain unidentified.
The 2 new confirmed cases in Pohang are contacts of confirmed cases from other regions (Daegu, Gyeongju). In Chilgok County, 2 people were confirmed positive: contacts of a previously confirmed case (Chilgok case number 115) from the 1st and contacts of Gumi case number 556 confirmed on the 6th.
In Gyeongsan, related to a cluster infection at local Y Church, one Daegu resident confirmed on the 1st tested positive before the end of self-quarantine.
