Increase in COVID-19 Spread in Gwangju Area Following 'Eobeoinal Family Gatherings'

13 New Confirmed Cases as of 6 PM on the 15th

According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 15th, as of 6 p.m. on that day, 13 confirmed cases were reported, newly registered as numbers 2586 to 2598.

Cases 2588 to 2590 and 2594 were classified as contacts of Gyeonggi Gwangju case number 1382. They are family members who held a family gathering in Jeonbuk on the 8th to celebrate Parents' Day, during which they came into contact with Gyeonggi Gwangju 1382.

Case 2586 is a family member of case 2380, confirmed on the 26th of last month. Symptoms appeared during self-quarantine, leading to testing and confirmation.

Cases 2587 and 2598 are related to a church in Gwangsan-gu. They are known to have come into contact with a previously confirmed church member at the church.

Case 2595 is related to case 2572, and case 2597 showed symptoms during self-quarantine after contact with case 2529.

Two confirmed cases with unknown infection routes were also reported.

Cases 2591 and 2593, among which case 2596, who had contact with 2591, was confirmed positive.
