[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) held an opening ceremony for the Flood and Wind Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters at 3 PM on the 14th and began operating the disaster situation room.

To prepare for natural disasters caused by summer heavy rains and typhoons, the disaster situation room will operate for five months until October 15, aiming to protect the lives and property of residents through swift and accurate response. In addition to the overall situation management team, 12 other teams will respond according to the situation stages: normal → reinforcement → level 1 → level 2 → level 3.

The district is focusing on implementing river and sewage facility maintenance works this year, preventing river isolation accidents through rapid river control, blocking flood damage in advance by operating rainwater inlet guardians, and preventing casualties by providing care services for disaster-vulnerable groups affected by flooding.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “We will thoroughly implement measures to ensure that no residents suffer damage from flood and wind disasters this summer.”
