Gwangjin-gu, Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation, Konkuk, Sejong, and Jangrohoe Theological Universities Promise Mutual Cooperation... Resource Sharing for Startup Support by Institution... Joint Issuance of Startup Education Certificates
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has joined hands with the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation and local universities to revitalize startups in the area and establish a cooperative system for startup support.
On the 14th, the district held a 'Startup Support Matrix Establishment Business Agreement Ceremony' attended by the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation, Konkuk University, Sejong University, and Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary.
Through this agreement, the institutions will share resources for startup support, operate startup programs by each institution, jointly discover and hold startup education, and mutually recognize each other's programs.
In particular, previously, startup founders had to retake the foundation's startup education even if they had completed startup education at other institutions to receive startup guarantee loans from the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation, which was inconvenient.
To improve this, the agreement allows joint issuance of startup education completion certificates by the institutions, enhancing accessibility to startups.
District Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, "I am grateful and reassured that all local universities have participated in this agreement," adding, "We will create an environment where not only youth but all residents can challenge startups without burden, and we will spare no support so that companies like the second Kakao or Naver can grow in our district."
Meanwhile, to provide a growth foundation for young entrepreneurs, the district has raised a total of 3 billion KRW in loans at the Credit Guarantee Foundation since 2019, supporting 57 young entrepreneurs with a total of 1.3 billion KRW so far.
The special guarantee for young entrepreneurs supports up to 50 million KRW per company, and up to 100 million KRW for future growth industries such as information and communication, professional, scientific, and technical services.
