"Stopping Myanmar Military Coup, Continuing the Spirit of 5·18 Gwangju Democratization"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun]The cyber diplomacy envoy group VANK announced on the 14th that it is conducting a campaign to inform the world about the military coup in Myanmar that is taking the lives of young people and to condemn it.

The campaign is conducted through a poster titled "The Revolution is in the Heart," created in Korean, English, Japanese, French, Italian, and Chinese, distributed on social networking services (SNS), and a global petition (chng.it/Pts62b2G) to encourage worldwide participation.

The poster includes the phrases: "Those who shoot at the head do not know. The revolution is in the heart," and "Ket Thi (45), a poet who wrote a resistance poem criticizing the coup forces targeting the heads of Myanmar citizens, was detained by the military police and returned as a corpse with his heart removed after just one day."

It also appeals, "Please share with the world the dream of resistance poet Ket Thi, who fought for Myanmar democracy while losing his heart."

VANK emphasized the significance of this campaign participation as "carrying on the spirit of the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement 41 years ago" and encourages people worldwide to join.

To participate, one can upload the poster as an SNS profile picture or post it on KakaoTalk, Line, Facebook, or Instagram with hashtags. Previously, VANK produced and distributed posters featuring U Cho Ma Tun, Myanmar's ambassador to the UN who gave the 'three-finger salute' criticizing the military coup at the UN General Assembly; Chial Shin, a 19-year-old Myanmar girl who was shot in the head and died during protests; and a nun who knelt before the suppression forces shouting "Shoot me instead."
