Gochang-gun Supports Installation of Basic Fire Safety Equipment for Disaster-Vulnerable Households

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk announced on the 14th that it will install basic fire safety equipment (fire extinguishers, standalone smoke detectors) for disaster-vulnerable households (elderly living alone).

Previously, the county and Gochang Fire Station have been supporting the installation of residential fire safety equipment since signing a business agreement for support in May 2018.

In 2019, basic fire safety equipment was provided to 700 disaster-vulnerable households, and in 2020, to over 700 households. This year, support will be extended to about 300 elderly living alone households.

Fire extinguishers and standalone smoke detectors, which are residential fire safety devices, will be installed and their usage will be taught.

A Gochang-gun official stated, “By installing basic fire safety equipment in homes, we will prevent large-scale fires, minimize property and human damage, and protect the safety of our residents' lives.”
