Riding the wave of increased laptop PC demand amid COVID-19, pre-orders recorded more than three times the volume compared to the previous generation. Samsung is implementing a multifaceted marketing strategy by simultaneously operating nationwide experience zones, online non-face-to-face events, and purchase gift promotions.
Galaxy Book Pro and Book Pro 360 Pre-orders Triple Compared to Previous Models
According to Samsung Electronics on this day, during the pre-order period from April 29 to May 10, the reservation volume for the two models, 'Galaxy Book Pro' and 'Galaxy Book Pro 360,' was three times higher than that of the previous models, 'Galaxy Book Flex2' and 'Galaxy Book Ion2.'
The Galaxy Book Pro and Book Pro 360 attracted attention at the end of last month with the 'first-ever laptop Unpacked (new product launch)' event. The core feature is enabling smart connectivity from smartphones to tablet PCs and wearable devices. No Tae-moon, President of Samsung Electronics' Wireless Business Division, explained, "We brought the 'Galaxy experience' to PCs, including mobility, connectivity, and continuity."
Although laptop PC demand is high amid COVID-19, Samsung Electronics' position in the laptop market is not prominent. According to market research firm Strategy Analytics (SA), global laptop PC shipments in the first quarter are estimated at 68.2 million units, an 81% increase compared to the same period last year. While Samsung Electronics competes with Apple for first and second place globally in the smartphone sector, it is outside the ranking in the laptop market. The Galaxy Book Pro series is attracting attention as it may turn the tide in the struggling laptop market.

The most emphasized feature in the Galaxy Book series is also closely related to 'connectivity.' Representative features include 'Quick Share,' which allows fast and easy file transfer without network connection or account login, and 'Samsung Gallery,' which enables users to view and edit photos and videos taken on smartphones and tablet PCs directly on the laptop. For the first time in laptops, 'Galaxy Book Smart Switch' is supported, allowing users to transfer files and apps from previous laptops just like on smartphones. An AMOLED display is also equipped.
The Galaxy Book Pro 360 can rotate 360 degrees, allowing it to be fully folded and used like a tablet, and supports the use of the included 'S Pen.' It is available in two display sizes, 15.6-inch and 13.3-inch, and three colors: 'Mystic Navy,' 'Mystic Silver,' and 'Mystic Bronze.' Prices range from 1.81 million to 2.74 million KRW, depending on CPU, graphics card, memory, and other detailed specifications.
The Galaxy Book Pro 13.3-inch model is the thinnest and lightest in the history of Samsung Galaxy Book series, with a thickness of 11.2mm and weight of 868g. Equipped with the latest Intel processor, it boasts the highest performance among all Galaxy Book series to date. LTE connectivity is also supported (Mystic Blue 13.3-inch model). It comes in two display sizes, 5.6-inch and 13.3-inch, and three colors: 'Mystic Blue,' 'Mystic Silver,' and 'Mystic Pink Gold.' Prices range from 1.3 million to 2.51 million KRW, depending on detailed specifications.

Online and Offline Events to Celebrate Official Launch
Samsung Electronics plans to hold the 'Galaxy Live Quiz Show' to celebrate the launch and operate the 'Galaxy Book Studio' experience zones at 64 Samsung Digital Plaza locations nationwide until the end of July. The Gala Show will feature Galaxy super-fan celebrities such as hip-hop musician 'Gray' and group Mamamoo's 'Solar,' along with popular creators, introducing the 'Galaxy Book' series through quizzes and more.
Until the 30th of next month, customers who purchase the product will receive various content usage benefits, including licenses for 'Hancom Samsung Office Pack,' 'GOM Cam Pro,' 'Samsung Edu,' 'Millie's Library,' and 'Season.'
