[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 14th that it will operate the 'Social Economy Startup School' for early-stage entrepreneurs preparing to start social economy businesses and is recruiting participants until the 28th.
The curriculum is divided into a basic course to cover the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and the cultivation of social economy values, and an advanced course that deals with practical startup operations.
The basic course is divided into three regions: the Southwestern area (Gyeongsan), the Northern area (Andong), and the Eastern area (Pohang). Through invited lectures by social economy experts and field learning at social economy enterprises, participants will establish an understanding and mindset about the social economy overall and learn business operation know-how.
The advanced course is conducted for those who have completed the basic education. Through matching with dedicated homeroom mentors and professional consultants, support is provided from corporate establishment to conversion into a social economy enterprise.
Additionally, for those who complete the advanced course, up to 20 million KRW in startup business funds will be supported through a final evaluation. Participants will also be linked and supported to join major startup support projects and government financial support programs in the future.
Those wishing to participate in the Gyeongbuk-type Social Economy Startup School can refer to the Gyeongsangbuk-do official announcement on the website or the Gyeongsangbuk-do Social Economy Support Center website and submit an application via email.
Until last year, 42 teams established corporations through the Gyeongbuk-type Social Economy Startup School, among which 14 corporations successfully converted into social economy enterprises. Other corporations are also continuously managed afterward to enable conversion into social economy enterprises.
Baek Seong-gil, Director of the Job Economy Office of Gyeongbuk Province, stated, "We will provide wholehearted support so that local talents preparing for social economy startups can successfully settle as social economy enterprises."
