Education on Various Play Methods Using Temperament Tests for Fathers (Parents) and Children and Play Kits I·II for About 440 Households with Infants and Toddlers, Including Single-Parent Families, Until January
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) will promote the "Ontact Dad Play School" (hereinafter referred to as Dad Play School) until November.
This project was prepared to enhance family bonds and happiness through a parent-child experience program using play kits, and to instill confidence and joy in the role of fathers (parents).
The Dad Play School is operated a total of 10 times, with about 45 participants per session, targeting fathers who are not familiar with playing with their children. Considering the characteristics of the target group, various parent education and play programs are conducted for a total of 8 hours, with 4 sessions per occurrence on weekday afternoons and weekends, each session lasting 2 hours.
In particular, since it was finally selected in March for the Seoul City Play Kit Utilization Parent Education Contest Project, starting next month, the program will be expanded not only to fathers but also to single-parent families (mother-child, grandparent-grandchild), allowing a total of 440 households to participate.
First, the 1st and 2nd online parent education sessions will be conducted using the video conferencing program (ZOOM) based on the temperament test and booklet distributed to families upon application.
Through temperament (personality) tests of fathers (parents) and children, it helps parents and children understand their differences and form positive relationships.
Families who complete the online parent education will receive Play Kit I, which includes ▲colored paper cups ▲balloons ▲ping pong balls, and Play Kit II, consisting of ▲scarves ▲dragonfly nets ▲multi-rings.
The 3rd program uses Play Kit I to conduct relationship-enhancing play with dads, such as ▲stacking colored paper cups ▲bouncing ping pong balls to catch with paper cups ▲balloon jegichagi (a traditional Korean shuttlecock game).
Detailed explanations of the play methods are uploaded on YouTube so that children and parents can watch and follow along together.
Finally, in the 4th session, using Play Kit II, a professional play instructor will provide real-time ZOOM coaching on ▲play activities by temperament ▲a Q&A session about play, and conduct the Dad Play School graduation ceremony.
Residents who wish to participate can apply on the Dongjak-gu Childcare Comprehensive Support Center website during the month prior to the education start date.
Kim Kyungok, Head of the Childcare Division, said, "I hope this project will be a good opportunity to promote communication between parents and children and lay the foundation for a happy family."
