[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Gyeonggi Siheung Hanguk Global Middle School (Principal Lee Kwang-jik) announced on the 13th that it will implement the 'Safe School Bus Information Service,' a school bus information system utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) and Location-Based Services (LBS).
The Safe School Bus Information Service supports identifying boarding student information and data on school bus usage to prevent COVID-19.
When students and guardians use this system to set boarding stops and safe notification zones, they can receive accurate boarding information and resolve inconveniences previously experienced when using the school bus.
Boarding and alighting information is also sent to guardians. Accordingly, the school explained that students can use their commuting time efficiently, and guardians can send their children to school with peace of mind.
The school plans to analyze students' boarding information and usage data to utilize it as research data for providing optimal routes.
Principal Lee Kwang-jik of Hanguk Global Middle School said, "We will do our best to create a safe commuting environment by providing the Safe School Bus Information Service suitable for the changing smart era," adding, "We will operate the school bus as a trusted service for the entire educational community."
