A total of 22 films have been screened, including Minari, which gained attention as actress Youn Yuh-jung won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in the United States.

The main audience of the Hampyeong drive-in theater is understood to be residents of the western Jeonnam region, including Hampyeong and Mokpo, and due to the COVID-19 impact delaying the release of blockbuster films, the drive-in theater has faced difficulties in attracting audiences.

A county official said, “While the number of visitors to the drive-in theater remains steady, Gwangju viewers prefer the Gwangju drive-in theater, and with the continuous postponement of blockbuster release dates, the number of drive-in theater visitors is gradually decreasing. We will strive to make the Hampyeong drive-in theater popular.”
