[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced that it will sponsor the 2nd 'Youth DREAM Gukgun Dream' Festival hosted by the Army Headquarters.

'Youth DREAM Gukgun Dream' is a project that the Army has been focusing on since 2018 to make military service not only a period of defending the homeland but also a hopeful time to prepare for dreams and the future. To support this event, KB Kookmin Bank donated 100 million KRW to the Army Headquarters. KB Kookmin Bank President Heo In said in a congratulatory video, “I hope this event will continue to develop so that the period of military service will not be a time when young soldiers temporarily postpone their dreams, but rather an opportunity to further nurture their dreams.”

The Gukgun Dream Festival, first held on Defense TV in September last year, serves as a stepping stone for young soldiers to realize their future dreams. At that time, more than 150,000 people simultaneously accessed the ‘Nara Sarang Portal’ site, where mobile voting for excellent works and outstanding units was conducted, showing the high participation of Army soldiers.

This year, a total of about 180 teams participated, with preliminary and final judging held since February. From the 11th, the excellent works and award-winning soldiers were broadcast live in a talk show format on Defense TV for three days. Awards were given in four categories: Dream Documentary (6 teams for club activity inspirational story contest), Dream Plus (7 teams for excellent military life model case presentations and competitions), Dream Battle (16 teams for excellent club activity competitions), and Dream Bboom Bboom (18 teams for category competitions such as logo songs and dance).

Han Sang-gyeon, Head of Institutional Customer Group at KB Kookmin Bank, stated, “I hope that young soldiers, who are going through particularly difficult times due to COVID-19, can gain some energy to enjoy their military life through this event.”
