A Veterinarian Visits an Elementary School Classroom... Korea Racing Authority Busan Gyeongnam Headquarters Conducts 'Visiting Professional Experience' Program

A Veterinarian Visits an Elementary School Classroom... Korea Racing Authority Busan Gyeongnam Headquarters Conducts 'Visiting Professional Experience' Program Veterinarians from the Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters visited Seongsan Elementary School in Yangsan, Gyeongnam on the 12th to conduct a "Visiting Professional Experience" lecture.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Veterinarians met with elementary school students to share vivid stories about their profession.

The Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters announced on the 13th that veterinarians affiliated with the headquarters visited Seongsan Elementary School in Yangsan, Gyeongnam on the 12th and conducted a "Visiting Professional Experience" lecture.

The "Visiting Professional Experience" is a career experience program conducted by the Yangsan Career Education Support Center of the Gyeongnam Yangsan Office of Education for elementary, middle, and high schools in the district that wish to participate.

The program is conducted in a way that professionals directly visit the schools to give lectures about their occupations.

On this day, equine veterinarians responsible for horse treatment and surgery at the Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Headquarters conducted the lecture.

They introduced the veterinarian profession to about 30 sixth-grade students at Seongsan Elementary School and explained the career path and vision. There was also a Q&A session to address the students' questions.

Lee Jeong-hoon, a veterinarian at the Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters who conducted the lecture, said, "Due to COVID-19, opportunities for rural students to participate in learning have decreased, so programs like 'Visiting Professional Experience' seem meaningful in helping to reduce the learning gap between urban and rural areas."

The Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters had been operating its own career experience program, but it is currently suspended due to COVID-19.

Once COVID-19 subsides and the race park operates normally, students will be able to visit the Busan-Gyeongnam Race Park directly to participate in tours and career experience programs.
