First, a total of 400 multicultural children from elementary, middle, high school, and university levels will be selected to receive an "Academic Scholarship." This scholarship can be used for expenses related to academic advancement, with amounts of 600,000 KRW for elementary students, 1,000,000 KRW for middle school students, 2,000,000 KRW for high school students, and 4,000,000 KRW for university students. Additionally, multicultural children aged 8 to 25 who possess special skills in arts, physical education, languages, or technology will be eligible for a "Special Skill Scholarship" of 5,000,000 KRW to support the growth of their talents, covering costs such as professional education fees, equipment purchases, and competition participation fees.
Furthermore, a "Special Scholarship" will be provided to 100 children of small business owners who have experienced a sales decline of 5% or more last year compared to 2019 due to COVID-19. Scholarship amounts of 500,000 KRW each will be given to children (including adopted children) of business owners currently enrolled in elementary, middle, high school, or university, whose businesses are designated as "Baeknyeon Gage" (Century-old Store) or "Baeknyeon Sogongin" (Century-old Small Artisan) by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, or who support socially vulnerable groups through acts of sharing and volunteering.
Applications for the multicultural children scholarships can be submitted through the "Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation" website, and applications for the special scholarships for children of small business owners can be made via the "Kia Hope Plus" website. The scholarship application deadline is until the 28th, and after screening, the final recipients will be announced in early July.
Son Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial Group and Director of the Woori Multicultural Scholarship Foundation, said, "I hope the scholarships will be a small support for students moving toward their dreams."
