LG Uplus Holds Customer Appreciation Event 'U+ Together Thanks Festival'

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 13th that it will hold a customer appreciation event, ‘U+ Together Thanks Festival,’ through its official online mall ‘U+ Shop’ until the 7th of next month. The U+ Together Thanks Festival is conducted separately for mobile subscription customers and home service subscription customers.

Mobile Subscription Event

LG Uplus is holding a roulette event and a quiz event for customers who purchase one of six Samsung Electronics models: Galaxy S21, Z Flip 5G, Z Fold2 5G, Note20, A42, and A32.

The roulette event, where prizes can be checked instantly, offers ▲Phone 1+1 (6 people per model, total 36 people) ▲One-night hotel stay voucher at Lotte Signiel worth approximately 500,000 KRW (45 people) ▲Car camping tent worth approximately 200,000 KRW (45 people) ▲Dining gift certificate worth approximately 40,000 KRW (300 people) ▲Fuel gift certificate worth approximately 20,000 KRW (800 people).

In the quiz event, the more correct answers there are, the more prizes are given. If 500 people answer correctly, they receive Together ice cream; if 1,000 people answer correctly, they receive Together ice cream and a Coupang Eats coupon worth 10,000 KRW; if 1,500 people answer correctly, they receive Together ice cream, a Coupang Eats coupon worth 10,000 KRW, and a Starbucks set gifticon.

Separately, customers who purchase one of the Galaxy S21, Z Fold2 5G, Z Flip 5G, or Note20 models are automatically entered into the ‘Name Poem Background’ event. As a special gift to customers using LG Uplus, a poem using their ‘name’ is created and turned into calligraphy wallpaper, which will be given to 100 people by lottery.

Earlier, on the 3rd, U+ Shop launched the exclusive partnership card ‘U+Family Hana Card’ in collaboration with Hana Financial Group. Customers who newly issue the card and register automatic payment for communication fees receive a 25% discount on their communication fee payments. Based on a monthly spending of 700,000 KRW, the maximum monthly discount is 25,000 KRW, amounting to a total discount of 600,000 KRW over 24 months.

By using the U+ Shop exclusive ‘U+Family Hana Card’ and subscribing to the U+ Together bundle, customers can enjoy up to a 62% discount domestically. For example, if four people use an unlimited data plan costing 85,000 KRW per month (including VAT), applying all discounts such as selective contract, U+ Together bundle, U+Family Hana Card, and LTE contract, the total monthly payment for four people combined is reduced from 340,000 KRW to 129,000 KRW, a 62% discount. This amounts to a maximum discount of 1,260,000 KRW over two years.

Therefore, based on four users of the 5G Premier Essential plan (85,000 KRW per month), the monthly fees are as follows: Galaxy S21 at 76,520 KRW, Z Flip 5G at 92,000 KRW, Z Fold2 5G at 116,010 KRW, Note20 at 85,330 KRW, A42 at 52,170 KRW; and based on four users of the LTE Premier Essential plan (85,000 KRW per month), A32 is available at 48,800 KRW.

The ‘U+ Shop Exclusive Partnership Pack’ benefit is also provided. When subscribing to the U+ Shop exclusive direct plan, customers receive a monthly discount coupon worth up to 7,500 KRW usable at partner stores for 24 months. This amounts to a total benefit of 180,000 KRW over 24 months. Customers can choose one of eight partners including Naver Pay, Smile Cash, GS25, Market Kurly, Yogiyo, Kakao T, GS Fresh, and Hana Money.

Internet, IPTV, and Other Home Subscription Events

For new internet and IPTV subscribers, the same roulette event as for mobile is held, with instant draws awarding ▲Ceragem massage chair (1 person) ▲Galaxy S21 (2 people) ▲Nintendo Ring Fit Adventure (5 people) ▲Hanssem furniture gift certificate worth 200,000 KRW (10 people) ▲Coupang Eats coupon worth 20,000 KRW (1,000 people) ▲Together ice cream exchange voucher (2,000 people).

Welcome gifts include gift certificates usable both online and offline. Customers who subscribe to internet + IPTV + pet care bundles receive gift certificates worth up to 460,000 KRW, and those who subscribe to internet + IPTV bundles receive gift certificates worth up to 440,000 KRW. They can choose one from Shinsegae (E-Mart), Smile Cash, or Homeplus gift certificates.

U+ Shop offers an exclusive additional 7% monthly discount, allowing customers to use internet and IPTV at reasonable prices. For example, when using Internet Smart Giga Ansim (1GB) and IPTV Prime Light for 92,000 KRW per month, applying the 7% U+ Shop discount, 3-year contract discount, internet + IPTV bundle discount, one mobile phone bundle discount, and partnership card (Hyundai Card M) maximum discount, the monthly payment is reduced to 7,850 KRW, a discount of 84,500 KRW. This results in a maximum discount of 3,040,000 KRW over three years.
