[Haenam=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jeonnam Haenam-gun announced on the 12th that it is recruiting a citizen participation group until the 18th to create a women-friendly city.

The citizen participation group will perform key tasks in promoting a women-friendly city by proposing improvements to inconveniences in daily life through capacity-building education, meetings, and activities by division, as well as collecting and monitoring citizens' opinions and presenting constructive suggestions.

The recruitment number is 30, and anyone can participate regardless of age or gender. Priority will be given to those who can participate in education and policy proposal monitoring as needed, and the activity period is two years from the date of appointment.

The "women-friendly city" designated by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family targets regions where women and men participate equally in local policies, and policies are operated to realize women's empowerment, care, and safety.

It aims to create a city where institutional and social considerations for socially vulnerable groups such as women, children, adolescents, the disabled, and the elderly are fulfilled.

Haenam-gun has set the vision of "Local policies that consider quality of life, a happy local community with women's participation" and plans to promote projects in each field by establishing a foundation for gender equality policy promotion, expanding women's economic and social participation, enhancing community safety, creating a family-friendly environment, and strengthening women's community activity capabilities through five major policy goals and nine policy tasks.

To this end, starting with the enactment of the women-friendly city ordinance this year, the county will recruit a citizen participation group composed of various citizens to support community monitoring and capacity building, and reflect broad opinions in the women-friendly city creation project.

Applications for the citizen participation group can be made by downloading the application form from the announcement on the county website, filling it out, and submitting it in person to the Population Policy Division or by email or mail. For more details, contact the Women and Childcare Team.

County Governor Myung Hyun-kwan said, "To create a women-friendly city where all citizens are happy and safe, it is necessary to present various opinions and participate reflecting a women-friendly perspective," and added, "We hope for active participation from interested citizens."
