Jangseong-gun 'Jinwon-myeon Basic Living Base Development Project' Fully Launched

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] On the 12th, Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do held a kickoff meeting for the basic plan establishment service at Jinwon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center and announced that it will officially promote the ‘Jinwon-myeon Basic Living Hub Development Project’ with a total project cost of 4 billion KRW (including 2.8 billion KRW in national funds).

The Jinwon-myeon Basic Living Hub Development Project is a project to create a shared living center, shared parking lot, health living park, pedestrian safety zones, and more throughout Jinwon-myeon during the project period (5 years).

The project was confirmed after Jinwon-myeon in Jangseong was selected for the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs’ ‘2021 General Rural Development Project,’ a resident-participatory bottom-up contest project.

Since March last year, Jinwon-myeon formed a promotion committee composed of local residents and thoroughly prepared for the contest project through on-site forums and preliminary plan establishment.

The purpose of the project is to strengthen convenience in daily life and cultural and welfare service functions in the township area, activate the community, and improve the quality of life for local residents.

The county is promoting the Basic Living Hub Development Project in a total of three locations including Jinwon-myeon (Nam-myeon, Bukil-myeon), and is also carrying out the ‘Rural Hub Revitalization Project,’ a contest project targeting eup and myeon townships, in three locations within the region (Jangseong-eup, Donghwa-myeon, Hwangryong-myeon).

In addition, when combining the scale of the Rural Hub Revitalization Project and the Basic Living Hub Development Project, the total amounts to 30.1 billion KRW, through which balanced regional development is pursued.

County Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “This project will be a groundbreaking opportunity to improve the living conditions of local residents and increase their satisfaction with life,” and added, “Since it is a resident-led project, we will accurately reflect the opinions of local residents and successfully complete the project.”
