Geumcheon-gu Recruiting Participants for Safe Jobs and Hope Employment Support Projects


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is recruiting a total of 298 participants for the second half of 2021 in the ‘Seoul Citizens Safe Job Project’ and the ‘Hope Work Support Project’ from the 12th to the 21st.


This project is promoted to provide direct jobs to the unemployed and vulnerable employment groups to support their livelihood and help them become self-reliant.


The recruitment fields include 83 projects such as ▲Illegal Mobile Advertisement Cleanup Project ▲Forest Environment Maintenance Project ▲Anyangcheon Riverside Maintenance Project ▲COVID-19 Quarantine Job Project.


Eligibility requirements are unemployed or daily workers without regular income among Geumcheon-gu residents aged 18 or older, and the combined property of the applicant and their family must be 300 million KRW or less.


Residents who wish to participate can apply by visiting the local community service center with their ID and related documents. However, recipients of livelihood benefits under the National Basic Livelihood Security Act, unemployment benefit recipients, those who have participated continuously, those with regular income, and those judged unable to work are excluded from participation.


After reviewing the applicant’s property, income, public job participation frequency, and exclusion criteria, the final selection results will be individually notified by each project department on June 29.


Selected participants will work at various locations such as the district office and libraries from July 1 to December 20, 2021.


They will work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, receiving a daily wage of 49,000 KRW including snack expenses. However, participants aged 65 or older will work 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, receiving a daily wage of 32,000 KRW including snack expenses. The period and working conditions vary depending on the project.


Additionally, participants are required to enroll in the four major social insurances, and for safety and health management, they will receive ▲Safety and Labor Education ▲Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training ▲Sexual Harassment Prevention Education ▲Workplace Bullying Prevention Education ▲Health Checkups.


Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We plan to provide quality jobs to more residents and strengthen employment capabilities by combining employment counseling and vocational training. We will also prepare to revitalize the local economy, which has been stagnant in the post-COVID-19 era, by expanding various jobs.”
